I get asked this question all the time. There are so many misconceptions. People actually think that I can take control of their minds, and make them do what I want! But no, hypnotherapy doesn’t work like that, otherwise, I’d have used it on my kids years ago!
So, solution focused hypnotherapy uses neuroscience, modern talking therapy, NLP and hypnosis to help individuals overcome challenges and achieve their goals. It is a relatively new approach that has gained popularity in recent years due to its focus on finding solutions, what can be done right now, and creating a preferred future, rather than dwelling on problems and anxieties. Because who wants to do that? And, as much as we might want to, we can’t change the past or (accurately) predict the future
It is based on the idea that you know your life better than anyone else and that you already have the inner resources and skills needed to solve your problems – even if you can’t see them right now! My role as your therapist is to help you access these resources and for you to use them to create positive change. This is done through a series of structured conversations and hypnosis sessions that focus on your strengths, desires, and goals – what you do want, not what you don’t want!
YOU REALLY ARE THE EXPERT IN YOUR OWN LIFE!
I am just here to help you identify your unique strengths and skills and we use the therapy to help you tap into these resources to achieve your desired outcomes.
I always ask my clients to describe their desired future in detail, to picture themselves in their best lives, and to brainstorm possible solutions to their challenges – but always in small, easy doable steps! I also use hypnosis to help clients visualise themselves achieving their goals and making positive changes in their lives.
SOUNDS PRETTY AMAZING RIGHT?
Solution focused hypnotherapy is effective in many situations, including helping people overcome anxiety and depression, improve their self-esteem and confidence, manage their weight, manage pain and IBS and achieve their goals in various areas of life. We often use other approaches, such as cognitive behavioural therapy, mindfulness and aspects of NLP, to provide a comprehensive and effective treatment plan.
That’s it in a nutshell. Has your view changed now? If this sounds like something you need then feel free to book a FREE 55-minute online consultation call with me today so that I can gain control of your mind too (insert evil laugh). Just Kidding! Together we can form a plan that’s personalised to you and help you overcome whatever is controlling your life!
